Janni took the time to fill out our short questionnaire, so we could really get to know her, and share our love of her epic #bookstagram feed as a thank you for all the hard work she does crafting her magical photos! Make sure you click her ticket above and follow her on IG and show her some much deserved love! Without further ado.... let's find out what sparks Janni's bookish interest!
Question 1: What sparked your love of reading? (Give me all the deets!)
My love of reading started when I was gifted a paperback copy of Ella Enchanted and learned that I could escape to different worlds and have different experiences through reading. I still have my original copy that is beyond well-loved to the point where the spine is illegible.
- Ella Enchanted is one of my faves too! I'm also a huge fan of the movie because of Anne Hathaway!
Question 2: What book could you read over and over again and never get tired of?
I'm not much of a rereader but A Court of Mist and Fury always gets me because I felt very seen in it.
Question 3: When did you start blogging? For books or otherwise?
I started my bookstagram account on June 12, 2019
Question 4: WHY did you start Bookstagramming (or Book Blogging/Toking etc.) in particular? What drives you (other than the love of books LOL)? The community? The creative side? The review writing part? Taking photos?
I started because I felt really burned out and very unlike myself. I had just started to read books again, didn't have a lot of people to talk to about it, and saw that there was a whole platform to do so on. So I combined my love of photography and my love of reading and combined them and here I am now! I'd say that it's a little bit of everything, some aspects more so depending on the day. I really love doing the photography. I love getting to see what everyone is reading and it's really opened my eyes to new books and genres. I used to only ever read YA fantasy but because of bookstagram, I've ventured out!
-Yaas! I love to hear that! I've found so many books from Bookstagram too!
Question 5: Name a book you think doesn’t get enough hype in any of the na/adult fantasy/pnr romance genres! Indie or mainstream publishing!
- Oooh, that title has me intrigued!
Question 6: What are you currently reading? Bonus: What’s up next?
I'm currently reading a romance called The Heir by Sophie Lark and I'm a mood reader so I have no idea what'll be next!
-#MoodReadersUnite! I totally get that!
Question 7: What’s your favorite sub-genre of fantasy? (References if you need them: https://www.papermythsmedia.com//genreandheatlevelguides)
It varies depending on my mood! But right now probably Urban Fantasy or Paranormal!
Question 8: How about your favorite tropes? (Examples: Enemies to lovers? Fated Mates, Love Triangle, Fairytale Retelling, Assassins, Pirates, Thieves etc.)
I am weak af for Enemies to Lovers. The Fated Mates trope is also one I really like. Found family, assassins, royalty, mafia, MC stuff has all been some of my recent favorites.
Final Question: Last but not least… Who’s your wildest dream unicorn author to work with/receive an arc of their book/do a tour with?
I don't know how I'm supposed to pick! There are so many. But maybe Leigh Bardugo!
-LOL who said you had to pick only one?
